[UK-CONTEST] Fw: 144 UKAC 3/7/2012

Hi,

Quick report on the above. I was trying out a new antenna, 11 ele LFA to see how it performed against my old 2x15 CueDee's.

Worked some EU for the first 40 mins or so then started to pick up UK stations. At first I thought the antenna was not working too well, although I had had contacts over 400km already. The band seemed remarkably quiet all round the UK, and a few CQ's didn't net much. So I adopted S & P tactics and that worked better, still difficult to the NW, but did work MM0GPZ/p, G4FZN/p and MW0ATI. So not sure if I'm hearing as well as before although worked 12 UK squares which is as good as I've done before, but missed out on IO80/90 & IO84 that I know were active.

So I'll have to do some more assessments and see how things pan out. Apologies if the formatting on the report doesn't show correctly.
