Hi Graham,

Virgin Media use Google Mail if I recall correctly, and there's a
Gmail "feature" whereby if you *start* a thread on a mailing list, you
will *not* see your own mail.

If, however, someone else has started a thread and you reply to it,
you should see your response.

The best way to tell if your mail has made it to the reflector is to
check the archives, the link to which is provided at the bottom of
each and every email sent to the list:
http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/uk-contest

You can see your test emails in the archives, so all is well.
