[UK-CONTEST] Train of thought leading up to ... 144MHz CW

Looking at Davids quoted results I'd be seriously looking at why 70cms
failed so miserably compared to my 2M station.
As has been said, improve your station - part of our self improvement?
Also spare a thought for all the other stations below you in the table year
after year and wonder why they keep turning out -perhaps they do it for fun,
it is only a hobby after all!

No 2M aerials here these days but have fond memories of Marconi contest,
even my poor CW was able to work some good Dx....

David,

VHF NFD is about distance, you could make twice as many contacts, but if
they don't add up to more than the other guy, you'll be second. It's not
about rate, it very rarely is on VHF. You can't compare it to HF where
generally rate is all, and distance isn't taken into account ever? I think
that's where you're are going wrong.

As for the 144 CW try it out you'll be surprised how far you can work and
with the few UK entrants there'll be compared to Europe, you might even get
a certificate.
