David,
According to your claimed score VARC lost 10% through adjudication. When
the UBN comes out you can see if this is down to errors in which case
there are things you can do about it without moving site. It was very
close on claimed scores at the top of 2m.
If you can be that good on 2, then as others have said, 70cms should be
possible. 6m can be an hf type contest so location is far less critical.
4m location is traditionally critical - SW or GM has always been
popular. These days some other countries have 4m so who knows it might
change.
Don't give up on field day (any of them) if nothing else it is a useful
training event to show new comers how to put a station together and the
rest of us will miss the familiar club calls that we work year after
year and know which club or group they are.
