Exactly Brian, at last a voice of reason. We are now being told though that making those corrections after the contest has ended is cheating!!!!! Yer
what!! I usually try to have a piece of paper and a pencil available but these days they are not a normal tool in my shack! That is why I prefer to
run the log through Excel at a convenient time after the contest. There is life other than contests which often re-starts immediately a contest has
ended, so a convenient time could be many days.

I agree about SCP. If contest organisers want to wup us then outlaw SCPs, RBN and Cluster, that will focus the operator's attention on really
operating the radio!!

The rule is now 'You must record what was sent' If I send the call or part of the exchange correctly and I record it incorrectly then I am complying with the rules if I amend my log to what was sent, not breaching it!

If I make an error when running then the other guy may correct me - if he doesn't then it is a bust. If I know I made a keyboard error or messed up the logger, in a keyboard tangle I keep a written note to fix later and I see no harm in that.

Far better in my view if they were to ban SCP. SCP is cheating by any other name. If they can't copy then they should move on. As a low power contester I do not get much trouble on cw but on ssb I get a lot of problems with guys getting the last letter of my call. They copy the C4. Now there are quite a few C4's active in the CQ events, so I get C4I?, C4M?, C4N?! It is just a guessing game. As I am the last letter in the suffix alphabet it can be many exchanges before they get there. I used to feel the need to stick with it but now when I know they are guessing from SCP I tune on up to the next runner.
