OK let's get on to so more interesting technical stuff. I was having a few enjoyable chat style Qs on 10m CW this afternoon and noticed the input SWR
on my Acom 1000 was around 2:1. It was same on 17m which is a shared band but solid 1:1 on other bands. Output is slightly affected, maximum power is
reduced from a kW to about 850w. I haven't checked the schematic yet but I thought the input cctry was a broadband 50 ohm resistor rather than tuned
cccts as per TL922 etc.
Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts before I start taking the covers off. The amp has been very reliable. This is the first fault after 10 years.
Repairing may have to wait a couple of weeks whilst I finish off mods to the relay cctry in my 2nd amp, a TL922, which is upside down next to the Acom
1k but at least I may be able to get ahead of the game.
