My 5 ele Yagi is 4dB up on my Hexbeam (according to Yaesu's calibration
of my S-meter). The noise floor on the Hexbeam is a lot higher and
switching from Hex to yagi is fascinating when pointing and shooting as
the Yagi just copies callers that are unreadable on the Hexbeam.
Incidentally a 4 ele yagi at 25ft was exactly the same on signals as the
Hexbeam up at 53ft to the 10M wire but had a slightly lower noise floor.
