[VHFcontesting] 903 vs 1296

I'm considering adding another band to my 6 - 2 -222 - 432 station.  903 and 
1296 are the obvious choices, with the DEM 28 MHz IF transverters being the 
prime candidate for equipment. (I am already using the DEMs for 222 and 432, 
with empty positions on my switching box).

Any thoughts on which band would give me the better bang for the contest 
buck?  Is operating at 1296 any more difficult (or easier?) than at 903?
