Multioperator stations calculate their score the same
way that single operator and QRP portable stations do
(grids x QSO-Points). The only class that calculates
its score differently is Rover. This anomaly is what
accounts for all of the exploitation, agitation and
turmoil.

Shedding a historical light on this reveals that this
was done to encourage rovers to participate and reward
them for doing so, because putting together a
well-equipped rover station isn't a trivial activity.

Here's the rub: The same can be said for a QRP
Portable station, yet they are given no
score-calculating benefit for doing so (nor should
they, in my opinion).

It is time to level (or normalize) the scoring system.
Doing so will eliminate the problems that have
plagued the community since the category was first
"officialized".

More crackers for the cranium,
