Well I remember a few times making contacts when I forgot to hook up ANY 
ANTENNA at all!!! The guys said I was weak but.....

I really think even a SIMPLE antenna for the correct band beats using the 
wrong antenna either on purpose or by mistake..

That being said, if the band's open and the 40 over 9 DX station says QSY to 
222, and your 222 antenna is down, what the heck, TRY whatever you got!!
