One more piece to the puzzle...

That SAME text:

>"All antennas used by the entrant

has been IN the rules since 2000 as best as I can tell, (I have the pdf 
files of the rules going back to 2003 but, using the 'Wayback Machine" at 
archive.org, I found the same text going back to 2000).

I believe John, W1XX, does read the mail here and I hope he will shed some 
light on what that rule is inteneded to cause/require/prevent/etc.
