[VHFcontesting] rig recommendations for portable operation

I've been using an FT897D for the past year or so.  No complaints here, 
it seems to do a fine job.

Just the stock filters, but I've never had a problem with too much RF in 
this area....

I hope to add another 222 transverter eventually.  Possibly built into 
the unused internal battery bay, which would make a nice 4 band package 
in a small box....

 From what I have read, the '857 is electrically identical to the '897.
