[VHFcontesting] Help mounting a new radio in a new car

First thing to do is get over the idea of not drilling.  Plastic is cheap and all interior parts can be replaced if you sell the car.  Most new cars have dash and console components that are secured with clips and they are generally pretty easy to take apart.  Start figuring out where you want the unit and take the dash apart to figure out how best to secure a mount.  Then drill away and make it solid and secure.
