We did Slide Mountain in June 1969 by hiking to the top.  It was W2SZ's first expedition.  The road is chained off and the area is illegal for motorized vehicles.

Utsayantha is an easy drive with a 360 degree shot but some trees.  Windham is good mostly to the east.

You can drive a toll road to the top of Prospect Mt. near Lake George in FN33, just off I-87.  The public parking area is south of the top.

There are a couple of good places in FN22,  Mt. Utsayantha in Stamford,
NY has a road to the top,  3200'.  Stamford is on NY Rt 23.  Also on rt
23 east of Windham NY there is a spot advertised as a 5 state view,  it
would be great to the eastern half of the compass and poor to the W, SW,
NW.  Slide Mt as listed on the n2mh rover site website is great,  but
it's probably illegal and difficult or impossible to drive up.  Somebody
was on there in the 60s and had a great signal in Conn.
