For those in the Chicago area, I will be running FM only all weekend
on 2 meters, 220 and 440. (except the WCRA Hamfest Sunday AM)

I was mixed mode and did pretty well last January considering my
limited time available. 87th out of 250 in class A.

This year just to shake things up and prove to those locals who say
FM is not competitive. And that you don't need big antennas and lots
of power to have a decent score.

In short, give a few points to the FM guys.

Hello to all! First VHF contest for me so will take it slow.
Saturday at 1900, will be Rover up the Mont-Royal here in Montreal
on FN35el.

Sunday morning, I will be Rover in FN25XS about 1400 UTC, will have a 6m 3el
beam and my mag-mount for 2m & 70cm and using my IC-706MKIIG and a laptop running Fldigi for CW, it's not much but it's my first time mounting a beam Rover and temps in January in Canada can change faster than a polititian promise...

I will be on ON4KST 6m... best propagation and luck to everyone

I got my frequency clearance from the Green Bank Radio Observatory. I will be working from Reddish Knob at 4600 ft (clear view for 360 degrees) in the center of FM08 (FM08JL) with a demonstrated range of 185 miles on 2M. 6M is new to me for this contest so I have no idea how far it will reach but it should be close to 200 miles with no propagation.

100W 8dBi beam on 6M 52.525 MHz (TBD)
100W 13dBi beam on 2M 146.520 MHz (187 mile demonstrated range)
25W 14dBi beam on 1.25M 223.500 MHz (135 mile demonstrated range)
50W 17dBi beam on 70cm 446.000 MHz (105 mile demonstrated range)

I will have a omni and second radio set up to monitor for CQ's on 2M/70cm while working the directional beams.

I will be calling CQ on 2M & 6M regularly, 1.25M intermittently.

If you are in the following grids please listen for me. It takes me about 45 minutes to sweep a full 360 with the beams calling CQ & making exchanges.

EM97 EM98 EM99 (Eastern portions of these grids) WVa
FM06 FM07 FM08 FM09 Virginia
FN00 FN01 South and Central PA
FM16 (north west corner) & FM17 FM18 FM19 VA & MD
FN10 (south west corner) PA
FM27 FM28 FM29 (western portions of these grids) Va

If you went to try a schedule my cell is 703 678 6795, please text or call. I have good reception on the mountain.

Good Luck to all,

The K1IIG FN-31NL Beacons on 222.060, 432.320 and 2304.320 will be off during the contest due to
the proximity to my contest station.

Don't forget to point South. There are numerous stations in Florida that are capable of working EM 84 under dead band conditions.
