RonI can't understand why some guys run 1500 watts on FT8.  I think that's one of the biggest issues down here. Weak signal?? I run with agc off and try to adjust rf gain to the best point that I can decode the station I'm trying to work and tolerate the 1500 watt weak signal that's wiping out every thing across the 3khz spread.deN3RG Ray

Mike - interesting, I've observed almost everyone on 2M FT8 sticks to the established calling sequences. We TX second when pointed to western half of compass. We TX first when pointed eastwards. On 6M it only seems to follow when the band is dead. But not when there's Es. Then the convention seems to be we TX second toward Europe, first toward the Carribbean and South America, and first toward JA. It's more of a go with the flow thing there it seems. Tnx for the filter suggestion, not sure it will eliminate all of my AGC issues but worth trying for sure. -73 Ron WZ1V----- Original Message -----From: Michael Clarson To: Ron Klimas WZ1V Cc: VHF Contesting Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2018 10:46:48 -0400Subject: Re: [VHFcontesting] 144 Sprint WZ1V> Ron: Couldn't you have used a narrow filter to filter out the strong> station?
