They aren't hams.  They are asocial computer operators.
No need for the awkward exchanges of: "It's good to hear you again.";
"Thanks for roving."; "Thanks for the new grid."; "BIG Signal!";
"You got any other bands?"
Gawd forbid they would have to exchange names!
