[VHFcontesting] Tuesday 222 Nite

It is Tuesday.  That means the 222 MHz band will be hopping with SSB and
CW activity.  I am still fighting with the loss of internet connectivity
at y remote shack. We found the problem was one end of the system
decided to reset itself to factory defaults.mIt has been pouring rian
for two days and I don't want to climb when things are wet and slippery.
I have to retrieve one of the 5 GHz link terminals from the 100 ft 432
tower so it can be reset. It looks like no chat page for me this week.
If you want to pass a message, you could try and get someone local to
tell me over the air. It is a pain, though. For my part, I will be on
222.110 CW and SSB for the evening. I have a number of beam headings
committed to memory. I know where to aim for KO4YC, WA3EOQ,  The Toronto
boys,  Chip, Paul and Stu, etc. etc. I will be sure to call some CQs in
those directions.

Activity usually starts up right after 2300 UT or 7PM on the East
Coast.  Today we have a big swirling storm centered on New England. It
is wet and windy. Conditions should be terrible but that is not slowing
me down. I will be there if all goes well at 7 PM local time.  It is
getting colder and with no heat, there will come a time when I cannot
make it up to the shack. I plan to close it up after the Geminids in mid
December. I will be stowing the 222 array to improve wind survivability
during winter storms. (I lower the H frame so it rests on the tower top
plate) That puts me off the air for Jan Feb  and March. If we get a bad
snow storm early, then my access to the hill is gone as well. I am
crossing my fingers. I hope to hear plenty of activity this evening. My
apologies for no chat page again.
