[VHFcontesting] 222 Night Wrap Up K1WHS

Hey Good Buddy Ron

I'll let you in on a secret.  I use remote SDRs all over the country. I
learned that trick chasing DX on the low bands.  Then I transmit using
the RHR and Be Loud stations. Works slick.   I sure would like to know
how you manage to work KA1SUN and a few others who I never ever hear way
up here in Maine. I suspect they do not aim anywhere near me and do not
stay on for the entire evening.  I missed Brian, N3EXA Tuesday night,
but he is normally worked up here.  I quit at 01:45 UT and hurried home
to catch a QRP event on 40 meters. I never got wind of KO4YC being on
222 last night. That would have been interesting as Hward WA3EOQ seemed
to be a bit better than average. With WA3EOQ, the difference in success
is only 2 or 3 dB as his signal is a whisper up here under the best of
conditions. Still, last night was easy. I heard a big meteor burst on
his signal and zeroed him in on his first call. I answered with a report
and we were done in no time with no repeats. That is a rarity for me.
Maybe I just caught a small tropo peak.

Gotta run
