[VHFcontesting] Roving question for upcoming ARRL 222 MHz + (aka UHF) contest August 5-6 2023

 I have built a pair of portable homebrew 1296 MHz SSB/CW transceivers (a project that's been underway for a long time). They put out 100 mW, have a single element patch antenna, and are self-contained with batteries. This was done mostly as a learning opportunity.

I'd like to use the pair of radios to provide "first microwave QSO" opportunity to some local ham friends (none of whom have ever been on 1296 MHz) during the upcoming ARRL 222 MHz+ (aka UHF) contest on August 5-6, 2023.

My thought is to drive to each of the friends home QTH, provide one of the two radios for temporary use (during my visit time), drive a short distance away (the radio's range from what I can tell is <1 km through an obstructed path from my initial testing), and conduct a single QSO (me as rover, friend operating from their home QTH, "driveway pedestrian portable" style.)

Is this sort of activity consistent with the spirit of roving operation for this contest?

I'd expect to see the result being submission of my log (with the half dozen or so 1296 MHz QSOs) and some/most/all of my ham friend's (each with the single 1296 MHz QSO.)
