Yes it is Tuesday and that means 222 MHz activity this evening. I am in
trouble here as we are having freezing mist and rain, which makes
driving up to the shack well nigh impossible. We got 5" of snow last
night before it turned to freezing rain and freezing mist/fog. I can
possibly walk up to the shack, but I may end up with very high VSWR due
to icing.  It all depends on Mother Nature.  I will do my best to get
on, but it is not lookin good right now.  I was in the woods this AM
hauling in the last of my firewood and it was not fun. I quickly got
cold and wet.  It was pretty slippery.   222 Night Activity starts about
00:00 UT or 7 PM on the East Coast.  We all look for stations around
222.100 plus or minus, and all modes are welcome.   Many of us use the
144/432 Region 2 Chat page on ON4KST. We are very close to the peak of
the GEMINIDS, so meteor scatter is a possibility this evening as the
shower is ramping up.

The Moon rises for me at about mid day. At 00:00 UT   the Moon is almost
due South and 50+ degrees up, so no rising moon horizon pointing tries
tonight. Condx should be great with low degradation. The last few days
have been great on 222.  Many single yagi stations were worked. I
suspect tonight will be great if only the icing on my antenna is not a
problem.  No chance to work any horizon only stations though.  For
anyone wanting to try EME, you can check into the HB9Q Chat page and
then select the 222 MHz chat to see who is on .    If you work any
meteor scatter, let us all know how you did.

CU (hopefully) this evening.
