Hi Vince & Jon,

You have asked what files to send for a contest not supported by
the Write Log software. I'm doubtful you will get many answers
unless others have used Write Log to operate in the event.

My opinion is that you should either determine from the rules
provided by the contest sponsor or email questions to them as
to what information and format they wish to receive entries in.

If you have a Windows based spreadsheet such as Excel or Lotus
Approach you can import the ASCII text files that Write Log
will save and then sort or change the format of that file to
your hearts content. From within Write Log, pull down the FILE
menu and click on SAVEAS, then click the down-arrow to the
right of the filetype block. Choose FILE VERSION OF PRINT
CHRONOLOGICAL (.txt) and then click SAVE. The file created
can then be viewed/edited with either a word processor or
a spreadsheet program that reads ASCII TEXT files. You will
find a line of text for each QSO you had in the log and a
field (or item) within each line for each entry in the
contest exchange format setup you used in Write Log. There
will also be columns for date, time, frequency and a few other
items.

There are other file types under the SAVEAS window that may
be easier for you to import. The ADIF or delimited formats
are handled well by some software packages. You can safely
experiment since the original Write Log (.wl) file is not
modified when you do a SAVEAS. By the way, usually you DO
NOT want to specify a file extension when using the SAVEAS
function since it will default to the correct filetype if
you don't specify otherwise.

The contest sponsor will likely require a summary sheet showing
your entry classification, total QSOs, total multipliers and
how you calculated your claimed score.

Now - - Unless the sponsor specifies otherwise - - I strongly
recommend you cut-and-paste the information into an EMAIL
message sent as ASCII TEXT (NOT HTML) format. If you choose
to attach some type of file you run the risk of the recipient
not being able to use it properly. By doing the cut-and-paste
routine the end result is the EMAIL message will look as if
you typed all the text into the body of the message. No attached
files or conversion will be needed to view and/or print your
entry.

Use your CALLSIGN followed by the name of the contest as the
message subject. Be sure to put your call, name, address,
phone number AND EMAIL address in the message body so they can
contact you if there are problems with the format or content of
your entry.
