If you are the homebrew type, there are many interface schematics on the
web.  I use the one at the following link:

I use this interface with Writelog and my other control software, even the
RC-746 software from Icom.  The great thing about this interface is it does
not use the Max232 chip.  All parts can be purchased at Radio Shack.  Hope
