[WriteLog] correct way to handle dupes???

I worked two dupes that were simpler to work than argue.

So I went to the first qso with each dupe and marked them as "Unclaimed".
The points disappeared.
But the second qso's retained the D but did not get the points.

What am I doing wrong here?
