[WriteLog] WL and CW - how?

Hello Marek et al,

I thought I would reply to the reflector in case others want to know.  You can use
a PK232 to send CW with little problems in WriteLog.  However, although there
is a way to do it (I think), there is no easy way to receive CW using the PK232 in
the RTTYrite window.  I don't recommend it.

It's best to use a sound card to receive CW in the RTTYrite window, or use the
built-in CW decoder in the main WriteLog window.  I haven't tried the latest version
of WriteLog, but I know earlier versions required faster PC's (400 mhz or better?)
to use the CW decoder activated from the Setup menu on the main Writelog window.
Neither one of my computers are fast enough to use the CW decoder so I haven't
tried it but I've heard it works great.

I believe that using the CW decoder is best when transmitting CW via
a COM or Parallel port.

Transmitting CW via a COM or Parallel port is highly recommended.  The problem 
with using a PK232 is that occasionally it's receive buffer fills up and the MULT
lamp starts blinking and it stops sending CW until you turn the unit off then back on.

If you must use the PK232 to transmit - OK.  To receive CW, you can then use
a soundcard and the RTTYrite window.

As far as sending CW with the soundcard, I don't know if it's possible.  I've not tried
it.  Maybe others can comment on it.
