Subject: Plaque Sponsors for CQWW RTTY and WPX RTTY Contests.
Date: Monday, January 15, 2001 2:47 PM

To RTTY Contesters:

The 2000 CQWW RTTY Results are now complete and ready to publish.
We have
one task remaining and that is to determine which plaques will be
sponsored
for CQWW 2000 and WPX 2001. Following is the list of 1999 RTTY CQWW
and
2000 RTTY WPX plaque sponsors as supplied by Ron, K5DJ. Plaques
cost
$50/ea. If you are continuing to sponsor a plaque, please send me
an e-mail
ASAP and send a check to my CBA. I then will have the plaques made.
As in
recent years, we would like to have as many plaques as possible
available
for distribution at Dayton.

Because of previously committed publishing schedules, the full
results for
CQWW RTTY will not be published in CQ magazine until the May issue.
We
hope to have the publishing schedule revised to March in 2002. I
will try
to have at least the "top 5 box"--showing the top 5 finishers in
each
category world-wide-- published in the Spring issue of The New RTTY
Journal,
if space is available. Full results for both CQWW and WPX will be
available
at Dayton. Fortunately, W6/G0AZT, aka The Iron Horse of RTTY
contest log
checking, reviewed all e-logs submitted for 2000 CQWW and will be
reviewing
the 2001 WPX logs. In addition he is The Man for ARRL RR logs
presently
being submitted. Accordingly, we now have good consistency in log
checking
for these three major contests. See the Winter Issue of The New
RTTY
Journal, now going to press, and May CQ magazine, for details of the
new
log-checking procedures for RTTY contests made possible by the use
of
Cabrillo format and the WT4I log-checking software.

Remember RTTY WPX is February 10-11. Rules were published in
December 2000
CQ magazine and are also available at
http://www.rttyjournal.com/rules/wpx.html . There have been some
important
changes and clarifications in the rules, particularly concerning log
submissions, the old 10-minute rule (now the 6 band changes per hour
rule),
off-times, etc. These changes are described in more detail in the
Winter
edition of The New RTTY Journal. But in any event, please read the
rules
before the contest.

See you in RTTY WPX from HC8N in M2 class.

Glenn, W6OTC
CQWW/WPX RTTY Contest Director
