I remember reading a post on the TR reflector from the Windows developer =
(was it DX Base or ??)stating that users expected the first Windows =
version to have all the features of the DOS version at the same price. =
But, reality was the first Windows version would not have all the =
features and would be closer to $100. So with all that in mind the =
project was cancelled.=20

I've seen all these comments going back and forth about how great WL =
is because it is windows based and TR is not.

Tree did attempt to bring TR to windows by having another software =
company take on the task of writing TR for Windows. Tree was not going =
to participate in the Windows program. The software company was going to =
attempt to write, maintain and market TR for windows. The news came back =
that the task would be to great and the software company backed off. =
Probably it was not economically feasible to proceed.

Tree provides almost immediate feedback to constructive comments to =
his program. Like WL's author, Tree does have a life that includes =
family and a job, but he actively participates in his program reflector. =
If a suggested/requested change is feasible, he implements it.

Both are excellent programs. I, apparently along with others, would =
like to hear if our "wishes" are being considered.

  To each his own.
