If the board is  made to use 1 IRQ, it should work fine.  And you don't need
to disable the motherboard ports!  If the motherboard ports are COM 1 and
COM 2, then when you install the 4-port board, it should get installed as
COM 3-6.  You probably won't be able to use FSK Baudot 5-bit on the extended
ports - I believe that Rocketport advertises their products are 7- and
8-bit.  Use your motherboard COM ports for FSK if desired/needed.
Rocketport is first class, but you could probably find a less expensive
solution.
