[WriteLog] WL holding my computer hostage!!!

It sounds to me like your "Alt" key is stuck down on your keyboard.

Those characters are underlined if you push your Alt key followed by a "P" 
to select on "SETUP" selection. This is a way to navigate without a mouse. 
But it requires the Alt key to be pushed first from the Writelog logging 
screen.
