Hi Barry,

I don't know if this is any help at all as I have not done MP3 files but in
the current
World Radio in the "Search & Rescue" column there is a short article on
Recording software
that he has tried and likes the best of all that he has tried.

In part he says two are the best are:

"MP3 Sound Recorder" from www.cooolsoft.com
and
Super MP3 Recorder Professional" from www.supermp3recorder.com

He says the latter is a little more complicated and both need
a Pentium with at least 150MHz speed.

I know nothing more than this and hope it helps in some fashion.

Will be interested in your final results as I will probably want to do some
recording
also in the future.
