I know you are both a writelog and Icom user – I have agreed to help a local
here get his 756 Pro II all wired up for contesting – but I don’t know much
about the radio and want to have what I need when I show up at his place.
My real concern is the audio interface. Is there an audio input on the rear
panel of the Icom? How do you bring the sound card audio output into the
rig at your station, through a rear panel input or straight into the mic jack
on the front panel? I plan to use a 1:1 isolation transformer, of course.
Also, do I remember that Icom has a DC voltage floating on the mic input?
If so, I guess I need a blocking cap as well.

Hal,

Yes I use both the 756Pro2 and WL. However, I do not interface the radio or
WL to audio so I can't answer your questions about audio. A good source of
info about this can be found on both the WL and 756Pro2 reflectors:

Also, you might try the k9jy.com web site devoted to WL info.
