[WriteLog] space bar and callsign grabbing (rtty) issues

Al,

In every contest, I change the fields that get displayed to simplify the logging process. The annoying behavior you describe is the default.

I remove the check mark for "Prompt" on all the fields like country, C, and others that I do not need to enter anything in during the contest. I also set all fields to "Tab-Only".

I was in the BARTG this weekend too, and mine did not work as you describe. I clicked on the call, and the call would go to the correct field, then the cursor would move to RST. Then I would click on the received QSO#, and it would go into the QSO# field, then I would click on the time, and it would be placed where it belonged as well. Not sure why yours wouldn't work.

Subject: [WriteLog] space bar and callsign grabbing (rtty) issues

I'm using 10.45 and have found the following annoying behavior when using the space bar to chagne fields in the entry window. When in the call field pressing space takes you to the next necessary field (usually skipping the RST field). Another space takes you to the next necessary field (if there is one). Another space takes you to the last field in the entry window, which is usually the country name (in dx tests). To get back to the call I have to hit tab, sometiems multiple times (to pass the serial numeber etc). Is there an INI setting I have wrong? It's very annoying to have to think about hitting the tab key in the middle of a run to correct a call.

Second question. I was fooling around in BARTG this weekend, and when I click on a callsign in the RTTY window, it puts it in the call field and moves the cursor to the RST field. I can't tell you how many times I replaced teh RST with the serial # and put the time in the serial number field. That caused a mess mid qso! The cursor should either stay in the call field, requiring you to hit space to get to the next reqired field, or should go directly to the next required field - not the RST field which we rarely edit. Again, am I missing an INI setting that will fix this?
