I think this is the first time that I've asked a question regarding WL on
this reflector, and I was overwhelmed by the direct responses!

CABRILLO - Following one of the guys recommendations, I tried importing the
data from my Internet Sprint Log into a regular Sprint log to do Cabrillo in
it. First problem was need for ADIF or .txt format. I couldn't get WL to
recognize .txt files. So I did ADIF. The ADIF file included all the
necessary information, but when it was imported, the other stations QSO
number was not transferred to the log. The names weren't handled correctly
either. Ultimately I edited the Cabrillo file that was produced in the
regular Sprint log to get it into correct shape for submittal. Thanks to
Wayne K7WM for volunteering to run it through WT4I for me. Let's see what
happens with my kludge job!

The secret to using the name of the prior Q is to insert %P3 between the
serial number (%) and state in the memories. Mine looked like this:

%C % %P3 VA K7SV (Me answering anothers CQ)
%C K7SV % %P3 VA (Me calling CQ)

Some asked how I handled the first Q. First I did about three practice log
entries, then deleted them. For my first Q, I sent my exchange by hand.
After that WL was flawless in sending the name from the Q just before the
current one.

Perhaps the only decent way of getting the log into Cabrillo is to use WT4I.
I'm kind of reluctant to purchase the software for this solitary use. If it
takes any effort to put Cabrillo in the Internet Sprint I can understand why
it's not done. There just aren't enough people using WL in the Int Spr to
warrant it.

Incidently, here's what the rules say about log submittal:

"Logs must be sent in ASCII format via internet in the NCJ Sprint Cabrillo
format to intspr at kkn.net".

Again thanks to all for the suggestions.

CU at Dayton!
