[WriteLog] Keying from F keys

Well, about halfway through the Oceania contest I saved and closed Writelog.
On opening, the F keys no longer work.
Have been through the archives.
As far as I can see, the rig and the computer agree with one another in the box by the entry panel.
But the F keys do not work.
Have tried restarts of everything, changed the Setup messages and pressed OK but no joy.
Any ideas. 
This is really depressing.
