[WriteLog] Help with General log

I have been trying to merge a contest log and a general log. By using 
the merge option it cuts off the sequence numbers of the contest log. In 
other words if you have 109 contacts in the general log and 200 in the 
contest log, after the merge it will start the contest log at 110 to 200 
the rest is gone. By using the ADIF file option and then import it. It 
just starts the sequence numbers all over again. Is there a better way 
to merge the logs and keep everything in its proper place. Also when you 
do a sort by date it jumbles the sequence numbers again.
