>From the writelog manual under "INI File Options, WRITELOG.INI [Ports]":

"There are 4 "slots" available for WriteLog rig interfacing. 

By default, CommSlot1 is COM1:, but you can change that by changing the
number on the right of the equal sign. 

CommSlot1=1
CommSlot2=2

In this example, the third and fourth slots are on COM7 and COM8

CommSlot3=7
CommSlot4=8"

So,  Writelog already offers what you're asking for.

Any chance we can get support for more comport's? Say through com 9.

Serial cards are becoming more difficult to find and I have been forced to
switch to USB with USB to Serial cables, which work great. I just need more
ports available to me so I can move the Icom to one of the higher comports
and leave the lower ones free for things that still force them to be used.
