[WriteLog] CW keying on LPT1 with XP Pro

In stark contrast to all difficulty recounted by the few here, I have succesfully set up Writelog for LPT port use on several XP computers with the free LPT port driver Userport both here at my own station, and at multi-ops. It was no trouble at all and pretty much automatic.

Granted, it seems that some other software packages handle the LPT port situation better, Writelog's approach has always been to focus more towards using serial ports.

Based on my experience and relative ease of using LPT ports with Userport, I would not say that it is "too much trouble" at all, and instead was just not an issue.

I understand that some have been dealing with "impossible" situations, but I have to conclude that there is something unique about those situations causing the problem. Remote troubleshooting of these issues is nearly impossible, so if you run into trouble, and you're not comfortable figuring it out on your own, you may want to look at other alternatives.
