Good explanation Gary.

The other way to look for totals is Window/Band Summary
The other point is that if your going to send in a Cabrillo file,
the, log checking computer will pick up all QSO's..
Good luck!
Take care

No expert here on Multi stations, but I have seen considerable chatter on
the reflector concerning the topic of serial numbers. The short answer is
there is no setting in WL to keep the serial numbers sequential across two
different computers. Each instance of WL increments its own serial number
without regard for what the other machine is doing.

Think about it for a bit. The radio running mults enters a callsign into to
WL to dupe check the call and verify it is a needed mult. At that time WL
issues the next serial number for this contact assuming that the station
will be worked and the entry logged. However, the mult radio may have to
contend with a pileup and make several calls before actually working the
mult station and entering the QSO. While this is going on, the run station
may have made a dozen or more q's, each one of which is given a new serial
number. How is the mult computer supposed to increment the serial number of
the pending contact without knowing exactly when Enter will be pressed and
what the run computer has waiting in the call window for its Enter key
press? How is the run computer supposed to know to skip the pending serial
number on the mult computer because it will be used for the needed mult
station? Or maybe not! If the pileup is too great and the mult station
hits Alt-W to clear off and hunt another one what happens to the unused
serial number?

Way too much complexity for a non-existent problem. Contests that require a
serial number exchange DO NOT require the numbers to be sequential across
the run and mult stations. As long as you give a number and the other
station copies it, its good in the log! If you want to know how many total
contacts have been logged by both the run and mult stations I might suggest
the following: Q's on run + Q's on mult = Total Q's. Problem solved!
