[WriteLog] cw speed

Hi,

 

I have an intermittent problem with my cw keying. Keying is very smooth most
of the time but every few minutes

the speed suddenly goes up to about 45 wpm (from 25wpm)

 

I have tried to close down all other activities in the pc but no change. All
fine for a few minutes, then the keying goes to pot!

 

I am using a fast pc (HP Pavilion laptop) and am using a serial to usb
converter.

 

I am waiting for delivery of a microham microkeyer, so that should solve the
problem but I wondered if anyone has 

any ideas about this?
