[WriteLog] need help

I ran the wpx yesterday and attempted several times export the contest 
to tqsl (file   wpxcw09.wl)--   it would not convert to tq8 file
went back into write log and now am getting message "invalid file 
format" when I attempt to open this log.  the other logs open ok.
I have no idea what I did but my history includes some rather amazing 
computer actions--none of them good.
can any one help me on this one,,,,  can I get the file back, correct 
the invalid thingy, and send it to lotw?
a search indicates two files
wpxcw09.wl  and wpcw09
I hate computers
