Dick,
Thanks for your response and sorry about the challenge. That's an
automatically generated message from my spam filter. (It turns out it will
challenge everyone on the reflector.)
Anyway, if you're still not too ticked off, here's what I have. I'm using
Writelog 10.67B and a Winkeyer USB I built about three months ago. The
Winkeyer works OK with the Winkey Test program.
In Writelog, I opened Setup > Ports and selected "K1EL Winkeyer" for the CW
Keyer Type and then clicked on the correct COM Port under the "CW" column.
But when I type into the CW Keyboard window or hit the F keys, nothing
happens. I don't know what else I may need to do.
I tried setting up the COM port two different ways. When I first connected
the WK, it installed on COM5, so I used the device manager to move it to
COM2. I also moved it back to COM5 and used Commslot1=5 in the .ini file.
Either way, it didn't work but the Winkey Test program did.
Twice, when I was fiddling trying to get it to work, as I clicked OK on the
Port Setup window the Winkeyer sent a Morse 'S'. But whatever that may have
meant, it never worked after that.
I also installed everything on a different computer with the same results.
The Winkey Test program worked but Writelog didn't.
Anyway, if you can see something I'm obviously doing wrong, I'd appreciate
your comment and thanks in advance. Don't worry, the spam filter won't
block you again...
John
