[WriteLog] WinKey driver choppy CW

If you are running 10.83 AND if your messages have a caret character in them
(for a "half space") then that version has a bug that sometimes pauses on
SOME WinKey hardware.

Solutions:
revert to 10.82
get rid of the caret
there will be a 10.84 "soon".
