[WriteLog] CW direct keying

Hi All,
I'm on holiday in the Greek Islands and my Winkey compatible interface 
has failed, luckily I have a spare directkeying interface which is just 
an opto-isolater type. It works fine but everynow and then it will just 
go crazy and it sounds like rig is being keyed very fast with rough 
choppy CW. This has happened a few years back on a different direct 
keying interface, different laptop, different radio, different type com 
port (I used to key off of a real comport) this was the reason why I 
went with the Winkey type as direct keying was unreliable. I presume I 
need to change a Writelog or a com port setting but can figure out what?

Any help appreciated.
