I think you need to fix the problem by seeing it as not a single problem
but several smaller ones.

Based on what you're saying I think you need to find and back-up the
contest files. You can use windows file manager to accomplish this.

Now - having said that it suddenly occurs to me that it also sounds like
you did an upgrade from Win 7 to Win 8?? If so, even if it's too late I
still have to say you should nevber do something as major as that without a
back-up of all critical files.

It is possible that depending on what options you entered during the
install, you might have lost everything on the original Win 7 system.

Spend some time trying to understand what happened during the win 8
install. That will be key to solving the rest of the problem.

As I may have said before, Writelog will install with an expired code once
you use the original install files as downloaded. Then you can update the
last one before the code would have expired (based on the dates).

In any event WL cannot find the contest files for you so I would make that
a priority. If you find them then we can advance to the next phase.
