Bob,
Using Writelog v12.03G.
I noticed the same you did regarding the scoring of European Russian
stations, Writelog counts 'm for 5 points while they are worth ten.
The Asian Russian stations are counted ok for ten points.
When I came across stations with the RK or SE Oblast I logged them with
Ctrl-Shift-Enter. That key stroke combination lets you log "unacceptable"
calls.
I suspect the scoring and oblasts needs to be updated.

Onderwerp: [WriteLog] Russian DX Contest log issues
I played in the Russian DX contest over the weekend but had a couple of
issues. I am running 11.32d under W7U.
The first problem is I was unable to log stations in RK or SE oblasts which
suggests the oblast file is out of date. Is there a way I can update this?
As an on the fly fudge I logged the 36 RK and SE Qs as RO and SO and kept a
written note. This allowed WL to move on. I am pretty sure this lost me
some genuine RO and SO mults.
The second problem is scoring. In exchanging notes with another local
entrant I found my score very low by comparison. I was running SOAB Mixed
LP where he ran SOAB Mixed HP but his 50% higher score suggested I had been
asleep at the rig but I had not.
The rules for the event specify 10 points for all DX contacts with Russian
stations but WL scores 10 points only when the Russian station is in Asia.
European Russian stations are incorrectly scored at 5 points.
I looked back in reflector archives and found comments relating to
incorrect scoring back in 2014 but found nothing suggesting the issue had
been resolved. I also saw a note from Randy K5ZD in which he suggested WL
was correctly scoring his entry, which from where I'm sitting seems rather
odd.
I dropped a note to Bud AA3B who reported having the scoring problem in
2014 to see if he could point me to a resolution. He told me he failed to
find resolution and now contests with N1MM+.
I've waded through my config and have found nothing obviously awry.
The log deadline is 36 hours from event end and 18 hours have already
passed. My only option at this stage to to edit the Cabrillo file.
Whether the problems are due to incorrect set up issue or incorrect coding,
help is required if WL is to be a viable option for this major event in the
contest calendar.
What say, anyone?
