[WriteLog] v12.35c commport question

Well finally see some light at the end of the tunnel!
I cleaned out the WASP nest of comport (both hardware and virtual) thanks to
the guidance provided on the rttycontesting.com (courtesy of AA5AU - Thanks
Don).
BTW Joe, I had NO selected for all comports in Writelog.
But the installation would not make CW from Writelog. uRouter worked fine.
Accidentally the radio went into RY mode (it might have had something to do
with my sudden impact of my fist on the desktop), I did not realize it and
selected comport 4 for CW and KE1L Winkey and APPLY then OK. Then I saw that
the Entry Window Rig button was reading FSK, so I selected CW from the radio
and then ALT K and type vvv and sure enough CW was generated from the setup.
So I create a contest sheet for NAQP CW and save it as well as configuration.
Was able to make a couple of QSOs there. So I guess the bottom line is that
the software setup has to go to RY before I can select the comport and type for
CW, then selected CW and it works--I guess!
I don't understand what I don't understand, but it is working. Just lucky!
Thanks to all that helped or offered to help.

Hey Joe,
Thanks for the help! Sri for the delay in replying, but my Grandson is
visiting for a few days. Don't get many visits from him, so can't give up the
opportunity to spend some time. Although I am planning on some kind of effort
in RTTYRU.
Yes I did download the current example configuration file for the MK and
writelog. In fact it helped my aging memory to setup up the RTTY
configuration which appears to be working fine.
I currently have a PCI-e card with port 2, 3, 4 and 5 installed in this
computer that is not being used now. Additionally, uRouter, Virtual Port, Show
All - reveals that I had previously created virtual port for 6 thru 11 that are
currently being used. Additionally, ports 12 thru 30 are present but not being
used.
I really think this is a computer ports problem, because port 6 had been flakey
as well. So I was going to remove the PCI-e card and the other Virtual ports
and then using the procedure described on RTTYContesting.com to make sure that
those ports are removed from the system ( guess this will work as I am using
Win 8.1 compooter). Then I thought that I would reboot and start over with the
virtual ports in uRouter and Writelog and see where it goes.
BTW I am using port 7 for CAT control for FT-2000 and port 8 for FSK--both of
these are working without a problem. In fact all of this was working including
CW in Writelog 11.29, uRouter before upgrading to Writelog 12.35c.
I
don't know! Thanks, Jim/KC4HW

Have you checked the example configuration file for MK and Writelog
(in Router -> Help | Download Documents or on-line in the MK area

*DO NOT* attempt to use the same port for the radio and CW (K1EL
Winkey). Also confirm that "COM PTT" for all Ports is set to NO.

My Setup: Writelog 12.35c and MicroHAM, Microkeyer
Have Comm10 identified and working for CW K1EL Keyer in uRouter. I was able to send CW from uRouter.
In Writelog 12.35c, I selected PORTS and set Comm10 for CW and then identify K1EL Winkey as the CW Keying Interface. When I tap APPLY and then OK I am getting a "Can't
open port for Winkey" error. This implies that something else is using Comm10, but I am not aware of anything that is using Comm10. So I shutdown to power off with the computer thinking that this would release Comm10--no luck!
BTW this configuration with Comm10, uRouter and Writelog v11.29 worked.
Any help here?
