[WriteLog] Running on Writelog

Mark,

WL has an ESM mode.

Entry / Options / Enter Sends Exch/QRZ

I don't use it because ESM is prone to QLF problems. Not everyone answers
in the correct order or with what you want all the time. Granted, most do
but I feel much safer telling the logger what to do rather than the logger
telling me what to do. So, yes, I use the F keys. It's not difficult. I
set up F6 to send his call plus my exchange. It's still only one keystroke
and I don't have to worry if I'm in the correct sequence or not.

I use F9 for "TU <mycall> and when I have multiple callers, I hit ESC
right after it sends the TU part.

I also add a couple of keyboard shortcuts such as defining the PERIOD as F2
to send a short CQ. I also use multiple CQs with one very short for times
when the rate is good, one long used for those dreary hours of low rate.
For SSB I have three CQs recorded (F1, F2, F3) and mix them up so I sound
less like a robot. I think it helps pull out the Sunday Drivers.

Aloha, Alan AD6E / KH6TU

So do I understand correctly that if N3RS calls me and I type in his
callsign, it doesn't send his callsign and then give the exchange? I have
to use Function keys to achieve this?
