Hello!
Well I didn't work the contest. I was at SK3LH about 3 hours before
the contest and I put up the Sloper for 80m. When I got into the
shack I connected my rig because the rig at SK3LH isn't ok,
something is wrong with it. When I tried it then it didn't key the
amp. I know that the TS930S got a switch in it because the remote
for kenwood amps and others arent the same so I opened the rig
but without an manual I could find the switch. Ok, let's try to use it
on the clubs rig but when I pulled the remote cable out of my 930 it
broke, gah!! Now I was standing with no manual so I couldn't see
how to rewire the amp. It was like 15 mins before the contest when
I noticed that the SWR on 160m was way to high.........I decided to
just skip the whole contest and went home.........I had more fun
with my girlfriend then I would have on the air with no motivation.
Well, I learned my lesson. ALWAYS have everything fixed the day
before the contest because if something fails then I loose all my
motivation. Well well, it was probably good to spend some time
with my girl because I'm going to spend much time to get my new
tower up. It's a 24m high one and if I can sell my C3 (it came along
with the tower, also did a G1000SDX rotator) then I'll probably get a
6/6/6 stack with the top two rotatable........it sure sounds nice :)
