Hey folks,
I see all of you already found excuses for bad scores. Here's my
story about EUHFC that can be also added to HG3G's soapbox about
contesting.
Number 1:
- Try all equipment if it works at least 2 days before contest.
> I tryed my equipment at Friday (day before contest - that's what Mike said)
and I was lucky I had 9A5AEI nearby, so he helped me a lot with Dipoles
getting up on the roof. We had to put little tower down and put it up
again (wx: cloudy + strong wind). So, do it all few days before contest
and dont trust anybody (my plans were to put up ants
with help of 9A6NCM who didnt showed up!)

- Use software that you've already used before.
> This is by me very important thing. I used N6TR's software first
time in this contest and you can see the score above. It's not
only the score but also there will be much -Qpts for bad logging.
I had lot of problems coz' I guess N6TR wanted to do all
different then K1EA did. I'm in WAE CW with CT 110% (if i get in WAE).

- If you plan to do all bands activity there's need to be active on
  all bands.
> I find myself excuses for not showing on 160m coz' of BIG ant but
it should've been used. I lost at least 30 mults there and high-rate
in last hour which was awful on other band.

These were my 3 tips for HG3G I learned this time!

EUHFC is sure one of the better contests you can find today in EU.
Lot's of mults (I was rare one?! 95?! coz many asked me to change band),
and lot of qso's (avg.rate 63.75 q/h).
Thing I didnt like in this one is that I easly got on 100q's on any band
but everything after 100q's was really hard. Maybe more activity would be
better?! Lost many mults on 160:( so I was almost beaten by S56A who had
700q's and up to almost 250 mults.
Weather again played big part in this contest. I had to go off the air when
my rate was showing 130 in 10mins rate window (S56A was last qso before
taking off). Luckly everything of storm happend in about 20 mins so
I could go on the air very soon after (lost about 30q's only). After
that there was QRN S7 noise on low bands and that means lower rates.
My plans of makin' 800 q's were ruined but I've beaten all that
I wanted: S56A & HG3G. Too bad S51TA wasnt in my category also
so I could beat him to. Anyone else wants to play against me? :)
Highlights:
- great run on 40m (dipole worked well on VY SMALL band)
- good score?!
- worked: YZ7EM, G0MTN, HG3G on few bands

Yeah, I forgot to tell ya I was in VHF Contest today.

9A1P on 144MHz: 296 q's in 10hours, 95000 pts (ODX: IT9!)
I wanted 300q's and 100k pts but none of that happend :(
We lost one 400W amp and that means loosin system beaming
     to good pts (IK1).

Ops: 9A2RD, 9A5AEI, 9A6XX
(it's not type mistake, it's 9A1P - not 9A7P.. hi)

73 de tired WWYC nr.3: 9A6XX
Ready to go off to take a long bath at 00:30 a.m. Monday
