Hey to all you WWYC peoples. I figured I should put this score on here =
seeing how everyone else posted. :)=20

Comments:
Atten=E7ion DX stations: KL7 is considered DX for this contest!
We had a hard time copying many US stations who were being QRM'ed by =
callers
from EU and JA. Aside from that, a good time was had by all. The old =
HyGain
beams continue to rack up the q's, and all the equipment worked well. =
The two
younger ops ran the big rates on the high bands, the old fogeys chased =
down all
the crucial mults on the low bands, and nobody starved or fell asleep at =
the
wheel. The old AK M/2 record was surpassed in under 24 hours, with over =
1,000
qso's in the first 3 hours. What more could you ask for from Alaska?

Now for my comments...
What a GREAT contest!!!! I was shooting for an hour with over 200 =
qso's. I beat that... THREE TIMES!!! (at least 3... 2 for sure, I have =
to get the rate sheet to verify it... it was either over 200, or like =
199) :)
The plan was to have me and John, WA2GO, running the high bands during =
the day, and a bit of early evening stuff on the lower bands. Then =
KL7FH (my dad), KL7Y, and NL7Z would do the low bands at night. I =
actually got some sleep this contest! KL7Y did a little high band =
running too though while John and I were on breaks. =20
The rates were killer the first several hours. We started on 10 and 15, =
with me on 10, and KL7Y on 15. We figured maybe an hour on 10, then 10 =
would go to 20. The pileup on 10m was SO big, that I had to throw in =
the attenuator, and all kinds of stuff that I didn't know the FT-920 had =
:)
The intermod between stations was horrible though, and prevented a =
serious run... managed 143 q's in about 47 mins on 10m. =20
Then I moved over to 20, and had an instant pileup. It was FUN! Then =
after the first 15 mins or so, the pile stopped, but I had 1 or 2 =
callers after almost every cq... so the rate went way up.
Qrate shows the best hour as 215... that was me on 20. Then that was =
followed by like a 203 hour. After that was mighty close to 200, if not =
over. Condx RULED!!!
Rates were almost always over 130 (usually way more) the first full day. =
Sunday was slow of course... but steady.
The low bands kinda sucked... but we did very well on 80. 160 is hard =
anyway from AK, but harder this high in the cycle. So we did mighty =
well!
Anyway, enough talk.. what a FANTASTIC contest...=20
Worked a lot of WWYCers... but of course, only stateside :)
KL7Y Antenna rundown:
10m: 5/5/5/5 Hy-Gain's at like 125 feet (I forget the height exactly)
15m: 5/5/5/5 Hy-Gain's at like 125 feet... but different tower of =
course :)
20m: 5 el hy gain way high, with a 4 el hy-gain on a lower tower. =
Both can be fed like a stack, or individually.
40m: 3 el at 160 feet... this antenna RULES!!! Wait till WWCW... =
there should be another one up below it :)
80m: Slopers. These do pretty well actually.
160m: Inverted Vee at the top of the 10m tower. Killer antenna. And a =
vertical. =20
We were loud on all bands :)
(amps feeding the antennas too, of course)
Nice scores from all the WWYCers... CU in ARRL SSB from KL7Y!
